Manchester Contemporary

Manchester Contemporary

28-31 October 2010 - Spinningfields, Manchester

For 2010 the second edition of The Manchester Contemporary continues its commitment to encouraging and developing a market for critically engaged contemporary art in the region. Hosting presentations from twelve commercial galleries it will provide an opportunity for audiences to access high calibre contemporary art by internationally exhibiting artists and those that are new and emerging.

Housed in its own purpose built temporary structure in the Spinningfields area of the city centre and with The International 3 as curatorial co-ordinators for this year this emerging art fair will take a flexible approach to the presentation of work. Rather than the booth spaces of last year, each of the participating galleries will be given an open area with walls being provided when required by the specifics of the work being presented. This will produce an exhibition design that will give precedence to the presentation of the art and in doing so produce a more successful and pleasurable art-viewing and art-purchasing experience for our audience.

The Manchester Contemporary will be supported by a talks and events programme co-ordinated by Contemporary Art Society North West and Arts & Business and a series of information and project booths.
