Maurice Meewisse presents a series of sculptural installations under the title “Isolators”. His work is characterized by its use of wood scavenged from historically significant trees across various cities in the Netherlands. These trees, some planted over a century ago and others in more recent years, carry deep personal and communal histories. They have witnessed the passage of time, served as living monuments to the communities they were part of, and have now been transformed into powerful works of art.
