Red Dog is an artist led, peripatetic, project space for artwork that explores site, history and gender.
At the Manchester Contemporary, Red Dog is showing Now You See Me; Ghosts and Monsters, a body of work that explores legacy and labour in relation to personal and industrial histories of the Black Country.
Celia Johnson's multi-disciplinary practice considers contemporary industrial processes, architecture and communities of work at the Guy Motors Industrial Park where her grandfather was a track fitter. Her work embraces the provisional, the discarded and left behind, looking for residues and traces of the past to make new narratives in the present.
