Vereda Tropical is an ongoing curatorial project, part of Square Art Project’s exhibition programme. Its objective is to deepen the dialogue between contemporary art from Latin America and the UK, and to heighten the appreciation therein. Working in collaboration with artists, project spaces, curators and galleries, it stages exhibitions of contemporary video art from South and Central America within the UK.
For this year’s edition of the Manchester Contemporary, we are thrilled to have collaborated with Saberes Ancestrales from Venezuela and Y.ES Contemporary from El Salvador.
This is the third iteration of Vereda Tropical, following a well-received event at the V&A Museum in London (2014), and a programme of video art as part of the Artlicks Festival, also in London (2013).
